Buying & Pricing
5 questionsHow much does a shed cost?
Price depends on size, style, and options. Smaller storage sheds start in the low thousands; larger garages and cabin shells run higher. Every quote is clear and itemized — no surprise add-ons. Tell us what you need and we'll send pricing with no obligation.
Is the price I'm quoted the price I pay?
Yes. Your written quote includes the building, options, and delivery within our standard range. The only things that can change it are options you add later or unusual site access. We don't bury fees.
Do you have buildings in stock, or is everything custom?
Both. We keep a rotating inventory of popular sizes and styles ready to deliver fast, and we build custom orders to your exact spec. If you're in a hurry, ask what's on the lot now.
Can I see a building before I buy?
Absolutely. You can view our in-stock buildings in person, browse real project photos, or use our 3D builder to configure and see your exact size, color, and options before you order.
Is there a deposit to order a custom building?
Custom orders typically require a deposit to lock in your build slot and materials, with the balance due on delivery. Rent-to-own orders work differently — see the Financing section.
Sizing & Placement
5 questionsWhat size shed do I need?
A good rule: pick the size you think you need, then go one step bigger — most folks fill a shed faster than they expect. Walk us through what you're storing and how you'll use it, and we'll recommend a size that won't feel cramped in a year.
How much room do I need around the building?
Leave a couple of feet around the building for airflow, painting, and maintenance, plus clear access to the doors. Local setback rules may also require a minimum distance from property lines — check with your city or HOA.
How much clearance is needed to deliver it?
For a fully-built delivery, we generally need a path roughly a foot or two wider than the building, with enough height clearance for gates, branches, and wires. If access is tight, we build on site instead. We'll review your access before delivery day.
Can a shed go on a slope?
Yes. We level buildings on blocks to handle moderate slopes. For steeper ground we'll advise on additional blocking or a leveled pad. Send a photo of the site and we'll tell you what it'll take.
Which way should the doors face?
Face doors toward your access path and how you load — for equipment, a side-entry layout lets you back straight in. We can position doors on the wall that suits your lot. Think about sun, wind, and the easiest path for what's going inside.
Permits & HOA
5 questionsDo I need a permit for a shed?
It depends on your city, county, and HOA. Many areas don't require a permit for a smaller portable building, but larger buildings — or any with electrical or plumbing — usually do. Always confirm locally before you order. We provide specs and drawings for your application.
What size shed can I build without a permit?
Many Texas jurisdictions use a 120 or 200 square-foot threshold for when a building permit kicks in, but it varies by city and county. Even permit-exempt buildings must still follow zoning and setback rules. Check your local code — the threshold is not the same everywhere.
Will you help with permit paperwork?
Yes. We can provide building specifications and drawings to support your permit application. We're not the permitting authority — final approval rests with your city or county — but we'll give you what you need to apply.
What are setback requirements?
Setbacks are the minimum distances a structure must sit from property lines, easements, and sometimes other buildings. They're set by local zoning and your HOA, and usually push accessory buildings toward the rear of the lot. Confirm yours before choosing a spot.
My HOA has rules — can you match them?
Usually, yes. Many HOAs specify size, roof style, siding, and color. Because we build custom, we can often match your home and meet HOA requirements. Get your HOA's written rules first, then we'll spec a building that fits.
Delivery & Setup
5 questionsDo you deliver to my area?
We deliver and build on site anywhere within about 300 miles of Itasca, Texas — that covers nearly all of the state. Add your ZIP to the quote form and we'll confirm your delivery range.
Is delivery included in the price?
Delivery within our standard range is included in most quotes. Long-distance deliveries or difficult access may add a fee, which we'll always tell you about up front. Blocking and leveling are part of the setup.
Is the building delivered finished or built on site?
Most buildings are built in our shop and delivered fully assembled, then set and leveled on your property. For tight-access lots or larger structures, we build on site instead. Either way, we handle setup.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock buildings can often deliver within days. Custom orders typically take a couple of weeks to build. Once your building is ready, we usually schedule delivery within 1–3 business days.
Do I need to be home for delivery?
It helps to have someone there to confirm placement and orientation, but if the spot is clearly marked and access is open, we can often set it without you. We'll coordinate the details when we schedule.
Foundations & Site Prep
4 questionsWhat kind of foundation do I need?
Most of our buildings sit on treated skids leveled with concrete blocks — no poured slab required. For permanent or larger structures, a gravel pad or slab is an option, and we'll advise on what's best for your site and use.
Do I need to prepare the site before delivery?
Clear the area of obstacles and make sure it's reasonably level and accessible. You don't need to build a pad for most deliveries — we level on blocks. If you're putting it on gravel or a slab, have that ready before delivery day.
Should I put gravel under my shed?
A gravel pad isn't required, but it improves drainage and helps keep the underside dry — a good idea on flat or low-lying ground. We're happy to recommend a pad size for your building.
Will the building stay level over time?
We set every building level at delivery. Over time, soil can shift — especially in Texas clay. If your building needs re-leveling, that's covered under our leveling warranty for the stated period. See the Warranty section.
Financing & Rent-to-Own
6 questionsDo you offer rent-to-own?
Yes — rent-to-own (RTO) with no credit check on most buildings. You take the building home for a small first payment and pay it off over time. Learn more on our Rent-to-Own page.
Is there a credit check for rent-to-own?
No. RTO isn't a loan, so there's no credit check and no bank to qualify with. Almost everyone gets approved.
What is "90 days same as cash"?
If you pay the building off within 90 days, every penny goes toward the purchase price — with no rental fees at all. It's a great way to use RTO as a short-term payment plan and avoid the higher long-term cost.
Is there a penalty for paying off early?
No. You can pay off any time and owe only the remaining balance on the shed — no extra rental fees. Be aware that some other providers do charge early-payoff penalties, so always read the contract.
Does rent-to-own have interest?
RTO doesn't charge interest like a loan. Instead it has rental fees, which cover the no-credit-check option. The total paid over the full term is higher than the cash price — which is why the 90-day and early-payoff options are worth using.
Can I return the building if my plans change?
Yes. Because RTO is a rental with the option to own, you can return the building before the term is up with no debt and no further obligation. Past payments aren't refunded.
Warranty & Service
5 questionsWhat warranty comes with a building?
Most of our buildings include a lifetime warranty against leaks and decay, backed by our workmanship standard. If something isn't right, we come back out and make it right. See full terms on our Warranties page.
What does the lifetime warranty cover?
It covers leaks and decay for the life of the building, for the original buyer, while it stays in its original location. Covered components include framing, siding, flooring, and roof under normal conditions. Acts of God, fire, and damage from moving the building are excepted.
Is the warranty transferable if I sell?
The lifetime leak & decay warranty is for the original buyer and original location. If you move the building or sell the property, that specific coverage ends. Other warranties may have their own terms — check the Warranties page.
How do I request service or a repair?
Reach out by phone or submit a service ticket with your build details and a photo of the issue. We'll review it and schedule a visit. Covered items are handled under warranty; out-of-warranty fixes get a fair quote.
Do you re-level a building that has settled?
Yes. Settling happens, especially on Texas clay. Re-leveling is covered under our leveling warranty for the stated period. After that, we can still come out and re-level for a service fee.
Customization & Options
5 questionsCan I customize my shed?
Absolutely. Size, color, doors, windows, porches, shelving, electrical-ready packages, roof style — we build to your spec. If you can picture it, we can usually build it.
What colors are available?
We offer a wide range of siding, trim, and roof colors so you can match your home or property. All paint is a premium exterior-grade brand. Use the 3D builder to preview combinations before you order.
Can I add windows, a porch, or a loft?
Yes. Windows, porches, lofts, workbenches, ramps, extra doors, and vents are all common add-ons. Tell us how you'll use the building and we'll suggest options that make it work harder.
Can the building be wired for electricity?
We offer electrical-ready packages — pre-wired for outlets, lights, and a panel hookup — so a licensed electrician can connect it. Local code and permits apply to the final hookup. We'll build it ready.
Can I finish the inside myself?
Definitely — cabin shells in particular are designed to be finished out. Many customers add insulation, drywall, and flooring to turn a shell into a guest house, office, or bunkhouse. Ask about framing options that make finishing easier.
Trade-in & Used Buildings
4 questionsDo you take trade-ins?
Yes. Our trade-in program gives you fair value toward a new Eagle Ridge building for your old shed — and we haul the old one away. Learn more on our Trade-in page.
What's my old shed worth?
Value depends on the building's size, condition, and construction. Send us a few photos and your shed's size and manufacturer through the trade-in form, and we'll reach out with an offer.
Does the old shed have to be ours to trade in?
No — we consider trade-ins of most brands, not just buildings we built. Submit the details and photos and we'll let you know.
Do you sell used or repo buildings?
From time to time we have pre-owned and repossessed buildings available at a discount. Availability changes — ask us what's on the lot, or check our inventory.
